Mountain Holidays in Japan

Japan receives one of the biggest dumps of powder you’ll ever hear about- with its northern mountains receiving a huge 16 metres per year!

Japan is a great destination for skiing or boarding from November through to late March and is one of the most cultural ski areas to visit on the planet. There are some ski focussed villages but also a combo of traditional Japanese villages too. Kate our Ski holidays specialist was lucky enough to get up there this year and can give you some great insight into the awesome destination.

There is a range of great mountains to ski or board on in the North as well as the Main Island. The mountains on the Mainland are outside of Tokyo about a 5 hour shuttle away. The mountains here are Hakuba, Nozawa Onsen and Shiga Kogen, these are all great mountains with a huge amount of terrain to keep you happy. This is also home to the Snow Monkeys too which is a must see! In the North which is famous for powder we have Niseko, Rusutusu and Furano, these mountains are great too with a huge variety of runs to keep all levels of skiers and boarders happy.

We can also add in stop overs if you wish in Tokyo and Sapporo. So if you wish to stop off in Tokyo and visit Mount Fuji or perhaps Tokyo Disneyland, or visit Sapporo beer brewery or winter festival let us know as we have great info on this too.

Each destination has something different and we don’t just offer what is on our website so if you are after a ski holiday that is not on here contact us and we will be able to help!
